WordCamp Albuquerque has a Full Slate of Speakers

The WordCamp Albuquerque 2012 sessions schedule is full! We have 18 sessions jam-packed with WordPress information and goodness, involving 17 different speakers (the designer/developer panel features presenters from other sessions). And there is something for everyone at each level of expertise within each of the three target audiences: designer, developer, publisher/user. And T-shirts! And lunch! And a hackathon! And a party! And more swag! Not to mention getting to hang out with a lot of cool people!

Yes, it’s a lot for $30.

Frankly, we think WordCamp Albuquerque has one of the best line-ups we’ve seen at any WordCamp. Mostly made up of local (Santa Fe and Albuquerque) presenters, it’s supplemented by some highly regarded out-of-town talent. If you want to submit a session proposal, we are still accepting submissions, with the understanding that you will get on the schedule only if another presenter drops out (and we don’t expect that to happen, because people in Santa Fe and Albuquerque are made of pretty stout stuff).

If you haven’t already registered for WordCamp Albuquerque, get your ticket now so you don’t have to live with the regret of missing out (regret is such a cruel sentiment). And so we don’t have to miss seeing you. Tickets are limited: when they’re gone, they’re gone.

WordCamp Albuquerque Tickets to go on sale Sunday, June 24

Mark your calendars! 200 early-bird tickets to WordCamp Albuquerque 2012 go on sale Sunday, June 24. At $30 each ($25 for students), you’re practically stealing, but we won’t call the cops on you. In fact, it will truly be a crime if you neglect to get a ticket and miss out! If you wait until August 1, you’ll pay $40 ($35 for students) for the same ticket. And that’s if there are any still available!

What do you get for your hard-earned but well-spent cash?

  • Friday night reception (cash bar) at a TBD location (take your beer from the reception over to the Hackathon group and participate in a WordPress Hackathon that kicks off at the reception)
  • Scads of brilliant WordPress presentations on Saturday (if you don’t leave Saturday a better, more motivated WordPress user, designer, or developer, it’ll probably be because of spending too much time on Twitter and Facebook telling everyone how cool it is to be at #wcabq: Focus, people!)
  • Coffee (maybe pastries) and Saturday lunch! Mmm…lunch…
  • Saturday after-party with other inspired WP folks (cash bar)
  • Sunday morning Hackathon wrapup/presentations
  • Sunday morning kids session ($5/kid; parents get in free) in which kids set up their own wordpress.com blog
  • WP and #wcabq swag!
  • the warm feeling that comes from being part of the New Mexico WP community (priceless!)

So get your ticket soon. If you don’t, somebody else will! And they might not be as much fun as you, and then we all suffer…

Call for WordCamp Albuquerque Speakers

The list is growing, but there’s still room for more speakers at WordCamp Albuquerque! Check out the “schedule” (really, at this time it’s just a running list of people who are speaking and, when we have it, the title of their presentation) and you’ll see there is plenty of room for you and your presentation.

Particularly if you’re local (somewhere in New Mexico), and you have some WordPress expertise you’d like to share, we want to hear from you. While we love having people come in from exotic locations like New Jersey and Denver, we also want WordCamp Albuquerque to have the “local flavor” that only happens with local speakers.

Once you’ve decided on a topic and title, send us the information via our presentation submission form. We look forward to seeing you at WordCamp.

WordCamp Albuquerque is coming!

Hello WordCampers! It’s time to save the date for our WordCamp Albuquerque extravaganza this year! It will be held Saturday, August 25th and Sunday, August 26th at Southwest University of Visual Arts, 5000 Marble N.E.

We’re hard at work massaging, tweaking, revising and refining the agenda to make this WordCamp even better than last year’s inaugural WordCamp Albuquerque. And you remember how fabulous THAT was!

If there is a topic you’d like to present (or hear about), or if you’d like to help us put everything together, click on the Speakers and Volunteers pages above and tell us about it!

Check back here often for new pages and new information.
